International Cat Day, celebrated on August 8, is the day to put our fur babies in the spotlight worldwide. This special day, founded by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) in 2002, offers cat lovers a perfect opportunity to pamper their furry friends and raise awareness for cat welfare worldwide.
Why do we celebrate International Cat Day?
First of all, the day was created to raise awareness about the welfare problems of cats. It is also a day to encourage adoption of (shelter) cats, so that more cats receive a loving golden basket. Moreover, we also celebrate the pleasure and company that cats give us.
