Behind the brand is Kari Ytterdal, a Norwegian ceramicist who grew up on an island surrounded by rugged nature and vast skies. After traveling throughout Europe and a stint in the Mediterranean, she studied art and sculpture at the Avni Institute of Art in Tel Aviv in 1993. There, she discovered her passion for functional pottery: pieces that are both beautiful and used daily. Kari has now lived in Amsterdam for over twenty years, where she handcrafts each piece in her studio.

Her work is characterized by organic shapes, earthy colors, and subtle contrasts. Think bowls with a rough surface and a silky-smooth glazed interior, or mugs that fit perfectly in your hand.
