August glows with warm, long evenings and a touch of melancholy as you sense summer slowly turning towards autumn. The full moon on August 9th is called the Sturgeon Moon in English, and is known to us as the Sturgeon Moon or Sturgeon Moon. It's a name you might not encounter every day, but it's one that's packed with symbolism.

Why Sturgeon Moon?

The name originates with the indigenous peoples of North America. During this period, sturgeon, an impressive freshwater fish, were abundantly caught in the Great Lakes. It was the height of the fishing season, and therefore a time of abundance and harvest . This moon reminds us to be grateful for what we have and to consciously consider what we want to carry into the next season.
